Undersecretary of Minerals Ministry Affirms Commitment to Transparency

Khartoum: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Hind Al-Siddig, has affirmed the principle of transparency and commitment to it. During her first meeting with Directorate heads at the Ministry and the General Authority for Geological Research, she indicated that she would work to support, strengthen, and develop the mining sector by optimally utilizing minerals through a strategic vision embodied in sustainability, environmental protection, citizen health, and support for the national economy.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals revealed, during her handing over the geological and chemical maps to the Director General of the General Authority for Geological Research, which were received from the Russian company “Ros Geo”, that the Russian documents contain a robust database for recovering all geological documents and reports lost during the war.

Dr. Hind stated that there was a plan to recover and preserve the information in a secure manner.

The Director General of the General Authority for Geological Research, Geologist Consultant Ahmed Haroun, provided a detailed explanation of the activities of the Ministry’s and the Authority’s emergency committees during the war.

It is noteworthy that the Director of the General Authority for Geological Research received the Russian documents from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Hind Siddig, following her participation in the Kazan Conference in Russia.
