Khartoum:The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, honored the Sudan U-20 national youth team delegation after their victory in the East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) Championship.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a reception at the Republican Palace, General Al-Burhan congratulated the Sudanese people on this significant achievement. He emphasized the team's role in bringing joy and reassurance to the nation, expressing gratitude on behalf of all Sudanese.
Al-Burhan highlighted the importance of leveraging the talents of Sudan's youth to rebuild the country and encouraged participation in future football competitions. He stressed the need to maintain these achievements, support youth development, and nurture national teams for sustained success.
He also commended the players for their dedication and skill development, reaffirming the state's commitment to providing an environment that fosters creativity and supports athletes.
Deputy President of the Sudan Football Association, Osama Ata Al-Manan, expressed gratitude to General Al-Burhan for recognizing the team's efforts. He noted the TSC President's ongoing support for national teams and pledged the association's continued pursuit of further sporting successes.
Ata Al-Manan mentioned that the championship trophy was presented to Al-Burhan as a tribute to the Armed Forces' role in restoring security and stability in Sudan.
