Port sudan: The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, engaged in an extensive meeting with the Director General of the Ministry of Health in the Blue Nile region, Dr. Mustafa Jabrallah, along with several ministry leaders. The meeting took place in Port Sudan, focusing on bolstering health services and hospital development in the Blue Nile State.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Mustafa Jabrallah presented an overview of the current health challenges in the Blue Nile region. He highlighted key issues such as the deficiencies in emergency services, a shortage of medical personnel, and the need for consistent drug supplies. The meeting also addressed hospital conditions in Damazin, Al-Rusayris, and Al-Sadaqa, identifying critical needs such as essential medical equipment like a CT scanner and the rehabilitation of Al-Rusayris Hospital.
Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing necessary federal support tailored to the unique needs of the Blue Nile region. He instructed that technical and logistical support procedures be expedited to meet these needs efficiently.
An agreement was reached to convene an expanded meeting in early 2026 in the Blue Nile region, involving international organizations, including the World Health Organization and UNICEF. This meeting aims to enhance coordination and support for health projects in the area.
Dr. Mustafa Jabrallah expressed satisfaction with the discussions, emphasizing the regional health ministry’s continued dedication to delivering medical services to displaced individuals from South Sudan in the Al-Daman Governorate as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts.
