Turkish Embassy in Malaysia Hosts Sudanese Delegation Aboard Naval Vessel at Lima Air Show

Kuala Lumpur: The Turkish Embassy in Malaysia recently hosted a Sudanese delegation aboard a Turkish naval vessel participating in the Lima Air and Naval Show. The Sudanese delegation, led by Major General Ahmed Salih Ahmed Aboud, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, was invited to attend this special event marking the first official participation of Turkish naval vessels in the show.

According to Sudan News Agency, Major General Aboud was accompanied by Sudan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Hassan Abdel Salam Omar, and Acting Military Attach© at the Embassy, Dr. Ahmed Mukhtar Mohamed Ali. The event was further elevated by the presence of the Turkish Deputy Minister of Defense and the Deputy Commander of the Royal Malaysian Navy, alongside the heads of delegations from countries participating in Lima 2025.

This invitation aimed to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Sudan and Turkey. The Sudanese delegation expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and praised the development of the Turkish defense industry, especially in the maritime sector. Following the event, they toured the naval assets on display at Lima 2025, inspecting vessels from the Royal Malaysian Navy and other participating countries, including corvettes, frigates, and submarines.

The showcased assets highlighted the technological advancements in modern naval forces and underscored their strategic importance in national defense systems amidst contemporary security challenges. The Sudanese delegation’s participation in this event forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance Sudan’s defense relations with friendly nations and explore collaborative opportunities in military industries, training, and rehabilitation.
