TSC President’s Adviser Meets UN Official to Address Sudan Crisis

New york: Adviser to the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) for Political Affairs and Foreign Relations, Dr. Amjad Farid, held an important meeting in New York with the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Africa, Martha Pobee.According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting addressed developments in Sudan, focusing on atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the role of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in prolonging the conflict through its support for the militia. Dr. Farid emphasized the Sudanese peace plan, advocating for its adoption as a basis for a political solution that ends the war and maintains the unity of Sudan and its institutions.Dr. Farid highlighted concerns about the ambiguous language used by some international actors, which he claims fosters impunity for militia activities and permits ongoing violations without accountability. He also pointed to the 'fascist nature' of the RSF Militia, both historically and currently.Martha Pobee rei terated the importance of diplomatic engagement with Sudanese authorities, affirming the UN's recognition of the current Sudanese government's legitimacy and its commitment to serious engagement to resolve the crisis.
