TSC President’s Adviser Engages with Saudi Arabia’s UN Envoy

New york: Adviser to the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) for Political Affairs and Foreign Relations, Dr. Amjad Farid, met at the Saudi mission to the United Nations in New York with Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative, Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Wasel.

According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Farid conveyed the appreciation of the Sudanese people and government for Saudi Arabia's supportive positions and its continued political and humanitarian backing for Sudan. He highlighted the Kingdom's regional role and its efforts in aiding peace processes, particularly emphasizing Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's role in explaining the Sudan crisis to the US administration during his recent visit.

Dr. Farid discussed the ongoing situation in Sudan, including the violations by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and their failure to implement agreements like the Jeddah Agreement. He noted that these failures are significant obstacles to ending the war.

Further discussions between Dr. Farid and Ambassador Al-Wasel included the spread of competing narratives and misinformation campaigns against the Sudanese government. Dr. Farid appreciated the ambassador's understanding of these campaigns and the actors involved, acknowledging Saudi Arabia's balanced stance in resolving the crisis.
