Kinshasa: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. (Eng.) Ibrahim Jabir, arrived in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to lead Sudan’s delegation at the ninth summit of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region. The summit is set to convene today, focusing on regional security and stability challenges.
According to Sudan News Agency, Lt. Gen. Jabir is joined by the State Minister at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Suleima Ishaq, along with several officials. Their arrival was marked by a reception at Kinshasa International Airport, attended by Congolese Minister of Tourism Didah Mazinga Mukanzo, the Undersecretary of Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Muawiya Osman Khalid, Sudan’s Head of Mission in Kinshasa Ambassador Osman Hussein Al-Amin, and other members of the diplomatic mission.
The summit will address pressing issues related to enhancing security, peace, and stability in the Great Lakes Region. Discussions aim to yield decisions and recommendations to tackle current challenges, particularly those arising from ongoing conflicts in the area.
On the sidelines of the summit, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir is expected to hold meetings with various heads of state and delegations. These discussions will focus on issues pertinent to Sudan and its bilateral relations with the countries represented at the summit.
