Khartoum: Advisor to the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) for Organizations and Humanitarian Action, Lt. Gen. Al-Sadig Ismail, has affirmed the state’s commitment to delivering humanitarian aid to all displaced persons (IDPs) and those in need without ethnic, regional, religious, or political discrimination.
According to Sudan News Agency, during the 26th briefing conference of the Ministry of Culture and Information, Lt. Gen. Al-Sadig highlighted the state’s efforts to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery by opening crossings and routes, including those outside its control. The extension of the Adre crossing for three months, from May to August, was noted as part of these efforts.
Al-Sadig urged humanitarian organizations to prioritize aid delivery to areas in North Darfur and South Kordofan, which are experiencing shortages of essential supplies such as food, medicine, and shelter materials. He emphasized the establishment of a TSC consultative body and the National Emergency Committee to support the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) in its operations. These bodies consist of members from various ministries and entities involved in humanitarian work.
Lt. Gen. Al-Sadig reinforced Sudan’s adherence to international humanitarian law as a UN member and expressed the government’s commitment to collaborating with international partners to ensure aid reaches all in need. He assured that Sudan will remove obstacles for international organizations and simplify processes related to visas, permits, and movement authorizations.
