Khartoum: The head of the Supreme Council for Social Peace, Professor Al-Nur Al-Sheikh Al-Nur, has called for intensified national efforts to consolidate social peace and promote the values of tolerance and community unity. He emphasized the need for broad community awareness and close cooperation between state institutions and society during the current stage.
According to Sudan News Agency, Professor Al-Nur made these remarks during the Effective Administrative Leadership in Emergency Situations course organized by the African Center for Governance, Peace and Transformation Studies at Nilein University. He explained that the Supreme Council for Social Peace has developed an integrated program aimed at raising community awareness about the importance of social peace and promoting cohesion and national unity.
Professor Al-Nur highlighted the impact of war on every household in Sudan, stressing that overcoming its effects requires strong community unity and national awareness capable of addressing current challenges and building trust among society's components.
In addition, he described the training course at Nilein University as a positive message affirming the continued role of national universities, noting signs of recovery and stability in Khartoum. Plans for a large carnival in the capital were revealed, featuring a march led by university students and youth to showcase Sudan's cultural diversity.
He emphasized that the Supreme Council for Social Peace cannot achieve its goals alone, urging all segments of society, including imams of mosques, the media, and social media influencers, to spread a culture of peace and encourage return and reconstruction efforts.
Professor Al-Nur acknowledged the role of the armed forces and their supporting forces in preserving the country's sovereignty, calling on course participants to dedicate their efforts to serving social peace and creating an environment conducive to the return of citizens and supporting the reconstruction process.
