Imam Ahmed Al-Mahdi’s Return Marks A Turning Point For Sudan’s National Unity

Khartoum: Sudanese political forces have warmly welcomed the return of Imam Ahmed Al-Mahdi, leader of the Ansar, to the country. They believe his return is pivotal in fostering national unity and reorganizing the National Umma Party.According to Sudan News Agency, Khaled Al-Fahl, a representative of the political forces, emphasized that Imam Ahmed Al-Mahdi's return coincides with a challenging period marked by a militia rebellion. He is expected to play a crucial role in uniting national forces to defend the country against both internal and external conspiracies, with the National Umma Party spearheading these efforts.Al-Fahl expressed that the time for stagnation has ended, urging the nation to rally behind the army in its "battle of dignity." He highlighted the responsibility of political forces to defend the homeland through a political approach. Ultimately, he stated, the Sudanese people hold the power to decide the nation's future.Political forces have united in support of a national peace initiat ive announced by Prime Minister Kamil Idris. Babiker Hamdin, Deputy Governor of Darfur and advisor to the Justice and Equality Movement, noted that the Imam's return could bolster national unity, strengthen the National Umma Party, and enhance the political forces' role amid Sudan's critical situation.Hamdin called for collective efforts to support the armed forces, intelligence services, police, and popular resistance in the ongoing battle. He emphasized the importance of national institutions reclaiming their voices and educating local communities on the need for unity against conspiracies targeting Sudan.Mutaz Al-Fahl, the political secretary of the Democratic Bloc, remarked that the Imam's return would significantly transform Sudan's political landscape.
