Sultan of Dar Masalit Appeals to US Over Political Interference in Sudan.

Port-Sudan: Sultan of Dar Masalit Sa’ad Bahar-Eddin has urged the US administration to refrain from imposing political groups that claim to represent Sudan without proper authorization, particularly targeting the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) groups and their new front, the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (Tagadum). He emphasized that Tagadum lacks the intellectual and political credentials to advocate for Sudan’s cause.

According to Sudan News Agency, Sultan Bahar-Eddin made these remarks during a meeting with US envoy Tom Perriello in Portsudan on Monday. He called for the US to avoid imposing foreign policies on Sudan, advocating instead for engagement with the government led by General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), who he claims has substantial support from the Sudanese populace.

The Sultan highlighted the discussions around the repercussions of conflict instigated by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Sudan, noting the extensi
ve damage suffered by the Sudanese people. He reiterated the emotional support of the Sudanese people for the armed forces and the current government to the American envoy.

The meeting also addressed issues related to the Adre crossing, which has become a security concern due to its use in smuggling weapons to militias. Sultan Bahar-Eddin mentioned discussions about the massacres in eastern Al-Gezira and the plight of displaced persons across Sudan, as well as the harsh treatment of civilians in otherwise secure villages by militia forces.

Sultan Bahar-Eddin noted that the US envoy expressed a desire for cooperation, emphasizing the willingness of the Sudanese people to work with the American government.
