Khartoum: Sudan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Prof. Ahmed Adam, has announced that his ministry’s upcoming plan aims to expand youth and sports institutions and introduce new athletic disciplines that align with the country’s sports development vision. Speaking during his meeting at the Olympic Village with Dr. Mohammed Al-Dosari, President of the International Minifootball Federation (IMF), Prof. Adam affirmed Sudan’s readiness to cooperate with international sports organizations through recognized legal frameworks.
According to Sudan News Agency, he added that, despite the current challenges and loss of sports infrastructure, the Sudanese Minifootball Federation has officially been established, and land will be allocated for its activities. For his part, Dr. Al-Dosari reiterated the IMF’s commitment to supporting the development and promotion of minifootball worldwide, noting that more than 53 countries across various continents are members of the federation.
It is noteworthy that minifootball, a smaller-scale version of traditional football played with five to seven players per side, is rapidly gaining global popularity for its accessibility and emphasis on skill and teamwork. Founded in 2013 and based in the Czech Republic, the IMF now brings together over 50 member countries worldwide.
