Istanbul: A high-level Sudanese government delegation met on Saturday with Mr. Deodat Maharaj, Director of the United Nations Technology Bank, at the Sudanese Consulate in Istanbul to discuss cooperation in post-war reconstruction and digital capacity-building.
According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation was headed by the State Minister at the Ministry of Finance Mohamed Nour Abdeldaiem and included senior officials from Khartoum State and the Central Bank of Sudan. Minister Abdeldaiem outlined the scale of destruction caused by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, stressing the government’s priority of rehabilitating infrastructure and restoring essential services.
The two sides discussed potential cooperation in rebuilding government institutions, enhancing digital infrastructure, and supporting critical projects in Khartoum State, in addition to training and capacity-building programmes. Representatives of the UN Technology Bank expressed readiness to support Sudan and expand technical cooperation in line with reconstruction needs. Both sides agreed to continue engagement and develop practical mechanisms for future collaboration.
