Khartoum: Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eisir, returned to Sudan today, Wednesday, accompanied by his delegation, after participating in the 26th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Sudanese delegation had earlier withdrawn from the special session convened to elect a new Secretary-General of the Organization from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to Sudan News Agency, on the sidelines of the Assembly, Minister Al-Eisir met with Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Ogail Al-Khateeb, and several senior Saudi officials in the tourism sector. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Sudan and Saudi Arabia in tourism and hospitality, developing the sector, and exchanging expertise and successful experiences through productive partnerships that enhance bilateral tourism relations.

eneral Assembly session, expressing appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to all participants – hallmarks of the Kingdom’s renowned tradition. He also met with the outgoing UNWTO Secretary-General, Zurab Pololikashvili, reaffirming Sudan’s commitment, as one of the Organization’s founding member states, to supporting its efforts in advancing global tourism development.
