Khartoum: Sudan’s Consul General in Ab©ch©, Qaddafi Abdullah Mohammed, has visited the Chadian city of Tina to assess the conditions of the displaced persons (IDPs) at Zamzam camp, who were forced to cross the border into Chad after the Dagalo Family terrorist militia attacked the camp, targeting defenseless civilians.
According to Sudan News Agency, the visit unveiled the extent of their suffering due to the severe shortage of food and water, especially as most of them are women, children, and the elderly.
The Consulate General provided some assistance to alleviate their suffering, including in-kind support for the Tina community centers established by the El-Fashir Gathering at the crossing and the temporary reception site. The Consulate also provided a drinking water tank to help address the acute water shortage.
A number of the representatives of the IDPs of Zamzam camp expressed their happiness at the official presence of the Sudanese government among them, represented by the Consulate General in Abeche, which confirms the state’s interest and the sense of responsibility of its senior leadership towards them wherever they are, which gives them hope of returning to the homeland soon.
