Ankara: Sudan’s Ambassador to Trkiye, Nadir Youssef, met with Dogan Bekin, Chairman of the New Welfare Party and a Member of the Turkish Parliament for Istanbul. The meeting focused on discussing the recent activities of the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in El-Fashir.
According to Sudan News Agency, Bekin presented Ambassador Youssef with a statement issued in Parliament condemning the RSF for their alleged involvement in massacres, labeling their actions as state-sponsored terrorism. He urged for international intervention in the matter. Ambassador Youssef, in turn, commended Trkiye’s continued support for Sudan’s unity and sovereignty, expressing a desire for the Turkish Parliament to formally recognize the RSF militia as a terrorist organization.
Bekin assured the ambassador that he would bring the issue to the attention of the Speaker of Parliament. He also mentioned having requested the Foreign Minister to extend medical aid to Sudan, akin to the support provided to Gaza. Furthermore, Bekin highlighted the ongoing efforts of his party’s humanitarian branch in assisting Sudan during these tumultuous times.
The meeting concluded with Bekin extending an invitation to Ambassador Youssef to attend the New Welfare Party’s upcoming conference on November 16.
