Sudan Reaffirms Commitment to Palestinian Cause and Roadmap Implementation at Arab Summit

Baghdad: Addressing the 34th Arab Summit, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir, a member of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, underscored Sudan’s unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue. He advocated for the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and condemned all forms of exile and violations of international law affecting the Palestinian people.

According to Sudan News Agency, Jabir’s speech at the summit in Baghdad highlighted the importance of adhering to the principles of joint Arab action to fulfill the aspirations of the people. He reiterated Sudan’s commitment to implementing the roadmap presented to the United Nations and mediators. This roadmap includes a ceasefire, withdrawal of militias, lifting the siege on El-Fashir, and the return of displaced persons and refugees. It also emphasizes facilitating humanitarian aid delivery, resuming the transitional political process, and conducting an inclusive Sudanese dialogue to pave the way for elections.

Jabir called for regional support in backing Sudanese national solutions, aiming for sustainable peace with regional impacts. He also urged contributions towards the reconstruction of Sudan and the rehabilitation of its infrastructure.
