Sudan Participates in Civil Aviation Dialogue at LIMA 2025 in Malaysia

Langkawi: A delegation from the Republic of Sudan, headed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense Major General Ahmed Salih Ahmed Aboud, participated in the Civil Aviation Dialogue, organized by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), as part of the LIMA 2025 International Airshow on Langkawi Island.

According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation also included Sudan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Hassan Abdul-Salam Omar, and the Acting Military Attach© at the Sudanese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Engineer Ahmed Mukhtar Mohamed Ali. The team attended two main sessions of the dialogue.

The first session was titled “From Risk to Resilience and Reducing Runway Accidents in Modern Aviation.” Participants discussed the challenges associated with runway accidents, reviewing initiatives adopted by various stakeholders, and the latest technologies to enhance runway safety and reduce associated risks.

The second session, titled “The Future of Air Traffic Management: Digital and Virtual Air Traffic Control Towers,” featured speakers who presented a comprehensive overview of the concept of digital and virtual towers. They discussed their expected role in air traffic management by improving communication and operational performance, thus enhancing the efficiency of modern air navigation systems.

The Sudanese delegation’s participation in this event is part of efforts to enhance cooperation and exchange of expertise with international entities in the fields of civil aviation, aviation safety, and air traffic management, keeping pace with global technological developments in this vital sector.
