Berlin: A Sudanese delegation, including representatives from the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation, participated in the 28th session of the German-Arab Business Forum, organized by the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce during May 19-21, 2025.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Sudanese mission in Berlin organized a panel discussion on investment opportunities and challenges in Sudan as part of the conference sessions. The panel was attended by Chamber Chairman Olaf Hoffmann, Secretary General Dr. Abdel-Aziz Al-Mikhlafi, and several German companies, in cooperation with the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
A presentation highlighted Sudan’s resources and capabilities, sectors attractive to investment, challenges facing the country, and the state’s efforts to create a conducive environment with necessary legal frameworks to encourage investment and attract businesses. This initiative aims to contribute to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Sudan.
Sudan’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Ilham Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed, emphasized that Sudan’s participation in this forum marked a return after a three-year hiatus. She pointed out that the Sudanese delegation engaged in significant meetings with the German-African Business Council, the African-German Association, several interested German companies, and delegations from Arab countries.

Ambassador Ilham regarded the visit as productive, noting that an agreement was reached to arrange a joint visit to Sudan by the Chamber, the African-German Business Council, and other institutions later this year. Preparations for this visit will involve coordination with the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation.
The Sudanese delegation at the forum was led by Ambassador Ilham Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed, with participation from the Deputy Head of Mission, Ambassador Idris Mohamed Ali, and a delegation representing the Federation of Employers and Businessmen, including Kamal Ibrahim Ahmed, Hisham Al-Sobat, Siddig Mahmoud Siddig, Engineer Tariq Hamza Zein-Al-Abideen, and Mohannad Awad Mahmoud.
