Paris: The Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in France has strongly condemned the terrorist crimes and bloody massacres committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against civilians in El-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur State, affirming that these acts constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions that protect civilians in times of conflict.
According to Sudan News Agency, in a press statement, the Embassy said the terrorist militia has continued its brutal attacks against civilians who have been suffering for two years under siege, hunger, disease, and lack of medical services.
The statement pointed out that the recent attack on El-Fashir included large-scale ethnic cleansing operations and massacres targeting women, children, and the elderly, as well as the deliberate destruction of infrastructure and government institutions in the city.
The statement added that following its invasion of El-Fashir, the RSF militia continued detaining civilians fleeing toward displacement camps, depriving them of food and medical care, and expanded its attacks to include the cities of Bara and El-Obeid in North Kordofan State. It used drones and direct assaults, causing hundreds of civilian casualties in each attack.
The statement renewed the Sudanese government’s warning about the danger posed by the militia and called for urgent international action to protect civilians and stop ethnic cleansing operations, expressing Sudan’s regret over the international community’s silence on these crimes.
The Embassy praised the broad global solidarity campaign with Sudan and the support expressed by peoples, international organizations, and civil society sectors, urging continued efforts to expose the militia’s crimes and hold its backers accountable.
The Embassy affirmed that the Sudanese people will remain steadfast in the face of terrorism and aggression, upholding their national unity and the justice of their cause until security, peace, and stability are fully restored throughout the country.
The statement concluded by extending sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and victims of the massacres in El-Fashir and other cities, expressing heartfelt sympathy to their families both inside Sudan and abroad.
