Langkawi: Led by the Ministry of Defense’s Secretary-General, Sudan’s delegation toured the pavilions of the LIMA 2025 exhibition to review the latest defense technologies. The delegation, headed by Major General Ahmed Salih Ahmed Aboud, along with the Sudanese Ambassador to Malaysia, Hassan Abdel-Salam Omar, and the Acting Military Attach©, Dr. Engineer Ahmed Mukhtar Mohamed Ali, conducted an extensive field tour of several participating pavilions.
According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation was briefed on the latest advancements in various defense fields, including air defense systems, UAVs, radar technology, electronic warfare, and more. The focus was on understanding innovations in fighter aircraft, training and simulation systems, naval and air capabilities, and the role of artificial intelligence in military applications.
The delegation visited pavilions from countries such as China, India, Iran, Malaysia, Turkey, and Russia, discussing potential technology transfers and the development of robust supply chains to enhance Sudan’s defense capabilities. The discussions aimed at enabling Sudan to advance its own defense sector through international collaboration.
Major General Ahmed Salih Ahmed Aboud emphasized the significance of international events like LIMA 2025 as strategic platforms for innovation and partnership in manufacturing, technical support, and logistics. This aligns with Sudan’s commitment to modernizing its defense capabilities amidst global security challenges, by learning from advanced nations and fostering international relationships based on mutual interests.
