Lima: On the sidelines of the Lima International Air and Maritime Show 2025, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Ahmed Salih Ahmed Aboud, engaged in discussions with a Qatari delegation led by Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghorab Al-Marri, CEO of Barzan Holdings Company for Defense Industries. The meeting was also attended by the Sudanese Ambassador to Malaysia, Hassan Abdul-Salam Omar, and the Acting Military Attach© at the Sudanese Embassy, Dr. Engineer Ahmed Mukhtar Mohammed Ali.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Secretary-General provided a comprehensive update on the latest developments in Sudan. He highlighted the achievements of the Sudanese Armed Forces, including the declaration of Khartoum State as a militia-free zone, indicating progress in military operations and the restoration of state institutions. He emphasized the strong relations between Sudan and Qatar, expressing gratitude for Qatar’s support in various circumstances.
Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghorab Al-Marri reaffirmed Qatar’s continued support for Sudan, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to assist in Sudan’s reconstruction efforts. He outlined Qatar’s plans to establish strategic partnerships with Sudan across multiple sectors such as defense industries, food security, airport rehabilitation, and infrastructure reconstruction. Discussions are ongoing with Sudanese entities to prepare for these initiatives.
Ambassador Hassan Abdel Salam Omar highlighted the potential for a model partnership by combining Sudan’s resources with Qatari expertise and capital. He emphasized the mutual benefits and added value such a partnership would bring to both countries.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain communication and coordination to transform discussed initiatives into actionable plans, aiming to achieve prosperity for both nations.
