Istanbul: The State Minister at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Mohamed Nour Abdel-Daim, recently engaged in discussions with the Governor of the Central Bank of Turkey, Dr. Fatih Karahan. The meeting, held in Istanbul, primarily concentrated on the economic developments in Sudan following the recent war and the ongoing efforts towards reconstruction and financial stability.
According to Sudan News Agency, the state minister provided an in-depth briefing on the challenges currently confronting Sudan’s economy. He detailed the widespread destruction caused to critical infrastructure, including bridges, hospitals, and schools, along with the significant damage to electricity and water facilities and the banking sector. Emphasizing the nation’s reconstruction needs, he highlighted the formation of a new civilian government in Sudan and underscored the importance of Turkish support in enhancing institutional and financial capacities and improving the efficiency of economic bodies.
