Saudi Arabia Condemns Attacks on Vital Infrastructure in Sudan

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has issued a strong condemnation of the recent attacks targeting crucial facilities and infrastructure in Port Sudan and Kassala, as tensions continue to escalate in the Republic of Sudan. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs communicated that these acts pose a significant threat to both regional stability and the national security of Arab and African nations. In response, the Ministry has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent further suffering and destruction among the Sudanese people.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has emphasized the importance of a political solution to the ongoing crisis, one that is Sudanese-led and maintains the country’s sovereignty and unity. This approach supports the reinforcement of Sudanese state institutions as a pathway to peace. The Saudi Ministry reiterated its rejection of such violations and underscored the necessity of safeguarding civilians. It also stressed the implementation of the Jeddah
Declaration, a commitment signed on May 11, 2023, aimed at protecting civilians in Sudan.
