Saudi Arabia and Qatar Extend Financial Aid to Syria for Public Sector Salaries

Riyadh: In continuation of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar to support and accelerate the recovery of the Syrian economy, and as an extension of their previous backup for the settlement of Syria’s arrears to the World Bank Group, which amounted to approximately 15 million dollars, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar announced the provision of joint financial support to public sector workers in the Syrian Arab Republic for a period of three months.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) stated that this support came within the framework of the two brotherly countries’ keenness to support the stability of the Syrian Arab Republic, alleviate human suffering, and promote the interests of the brotherly Syrian people, based on the fraternal ties and historical relations that unite the peoples of the three countries.

evelopment efforts, enhancing economic and social stability in Syria, and contributing to improving the living conditions of the brotherly Syrian people.

They also expressed their aspiration to coordinate efforts with the international community in general, and development partners from regional and international organizations in particular, within the framework of a clear and comprehensive vision that contributes to achieving effective and sustainable support and enhancing development opportunities for the brotherly Syrian people.
