Omdurman: During its recent operations to clear areas south of Omdurman, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) found mass graves containing the remains of victims detained by the Dagalo family militia, known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), inside a school in the Al-Salha area. These individuals had been used as human shields under dire humanitarian conditions.
According to Sudan News Agency, the SAF successfully liberated a significant number of civilians and retired members of the regular forces. These individuals had been arrested by the militia from their homes, targeted solely due to their ethnic backgrounds, despite not having committed any crimes.
The operation revealed that the number of detainees held inside the school reached 648. Tragically, 465 of these detainees perished as a result of severe neglect, alongside a lack of food, medicine, and medical care. The deceased were subsequently buried in mass graves, with some graves containing more than 27 bodies.
