Prime Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Energy Sector Support

Khartoum: The Prime Minister, Professor Kamil Idris, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Hope to supporting the energy sector and providing it with the necessary resources and inputs. This announcement was made during a meeting in Khartoum with key government officials, including the Minister of Finance, Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, the Minister of Energy, Engineer Al-Mua'tasim Ibrahim, and the Director General of the Sudan Electricity Company, Engineer Abdullah Mohammed Ali.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister of Energy stated that the meeting focused on the services provided by the ministry in the energy sector and the ongoing efforts to ensure electricity availability for citizens. The discussion also covered the ministry's past efforts and future plans, highlighting the commitment to intensify efforts to expand the electricity supply. This aligns with the Government of Hope's objective to create a conducive environment for citizens to return to their homes.

The Minister of Energy outlined short-, medium-, and long-term plans aimed at advancing the electricity sector, with anticipated visible results soon. He expressed optimism about securing the necessary resources to boost power generation and expand transmission to residential, agricultural, and industrial areas. Additionally, efforts will continue in maintaining, rehabilitating, and reconstructing the electricity infrastructure.

The Minister also urged citizens to refrain from illegal connections and to protect equipment and networks. He confirmed plans to supply additional electricity meters to citizens in the near future.
