Port Sudan: Transitional Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has affirmed the government’s interest in strengthening relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that Sudan and Saudi Arabia share historical ties linked to vital issues, joint interests, and shared concerns. This came during his meeting with the Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, at his office in Port Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, Ambassador Jaafar expressed the Kingdom’s readiness to support the Prime Minister and contribute to the success of his programs. He stated that the meeting focused on aspects of bilateral relations, with the Prime Minister expressing appreciation for the Kingdom’s support for Sudan and its people.
The Saudi Ambassador highlighted ongoing discussions about economic and development cooperation, which are set to be addressed during the Supreme Coordination Council. This follows the recent visit of President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, to the Kingdom,
where he met with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Ambassador Jaafar noted the distinguished and deep-rooted nature of the relations between the two countries, expressing optimism about Sudan’s return to a productive role and the resumption of development. He emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Sudan and its people.
He further mentioned that a committee, led by the Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, was formed during Ramadan to discuss emergency projects to support Sudan, with the outcomes expected to be announced soon.
