On LIMA 2025 Sidelines, Ministry of Defense’s Secretary-General Meets His Malaysian Counterpart

Langkawi: The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Salih Ahmed Aboud, met with his Malaysian counterpart, Datuk Lukman Hakim bin Ali, on the sidelines of the LIMA 2025 International Maritime and Aviation Exhibition on Langkawi Island, Malaysia.

According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting was attended by His Excellency the Sudanese Ambassador to Malaysia Hassan Abdul-Salam Omar, and the Acting Military Attach© at the Embassy Dr. Engineer Ahmed Mukhtar Mohamed Ali. During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense provided a detailed explanation to his Malaysian counterpart on the developments in Sudan, highlighting the beginning of a phase of stability in most parts of the country after significant victories by the Sudanese Armed Forces.

The two sides discussed Malaysia’s expected role in the post-war period and its contribution to reconstruction efforts, emphasizing the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries. They agreed to renew the previously signed memorandum of understanding in the field of defense cooperation, proposing an expansion to include military health, which would enhance coordination between their military institutions.

Both parties affirmed the strength of bilateral relations between Sudan and Malaysia, viewing the meeting as a new beginning in a series of high-level reciprocal visits aimed at strengthening cooperation and advancing it to wider horizons to serve joint interests.
