Khartoum: The Ministry of Finance and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have reaffirmed alignment on the priorities of the current phase, particularly in the areas of public financial reform, institutional capacity-building, and post-conflict recovery support.
According to Sudan News Agency, this alignment was confirmed during the closing session of a UNDP mission held at the Ministry's headquarters in Khartoum. The session saw participation from senior officials specializing in international financial cooperation and representatives from the UNDP Country Office in Sudan.
Both parties emphasized the urgency of enhancing human and institutional capacities, improving resource management, and optimizing the use of technical and development support available. These efforts aim to advance Sudan's ongoing reform agenda, keeping pace with global technological developments.
UNDP representatives reiterated their commitment to providing additional support to Sudan's financial reform process. This includes the development of an integrated public financial management system designed to strengthen transparency, enhance oversight of public funds, and improve service delivery.
The mission also reviewed Sudan's broader reconstruction and development efforts. It assessed the Ministry's requirements for advancing digital transformation in public financial systems and improving efficiency across state institutions.
