Ministry of Culture and UNESCO Forge Partnership to Preserve Sudan’s Cultural Heritage

Khartoum: Minister of Culture and Information and Government Spokesperson Khalid Al-Aiser held a meeting with John Jurish, the Director of the Bureau and Representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to Sudan, in his office on Monday. The discussion focused on enhancing collaboration between the Ministry and UNESCO, specifically in preserving Sudan’s cultural heritage.

According to Sudan News Agency, Mr. Jurish commended the Ministry of Culture and Information for its dedication to safeguarding Sudan’s cultural heritage and acknowledged the productive cooperation with UNESCO. He emphasized the importance of fortifying the partnership between UNESCO and the Ministry to ensure continued support for cultural initiatives in Sudan.

John Jurish reiterated UNESCO’s commitment to backing cultural projects in Sudan, underscoring the longstanding and distinguished relationship with the Ministry of Culture and Information. He expressed UNESCO’s willingness to collaborate in all areas of cultural cooperation through joint working groups, highlighting the achievements in the cultural sector and expressing eagerness to support future projects in the country.
