Khartoum: The Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Abdel-Rahim Al-Mansouri, has announced the launch of a comprehensive five-year strategic plan that includes 33 projects across various livestock sectors. This announcement was made during a meeting held at the Fisheries and Research Authority in Red Sea State with Mr. Andrea Bozzuto, the Director of the Italian organization SIAM Badi.
According to Sudan News Agency, Mr. Bozzuto provided insights into the organization’s initiatives in Red Sea State, which encompass upgrading market infrastructure and supplying agricultural inputs, fertilizers, and small equipment. Furthermore, the organization is involved in the rehabilitation of the Veterinary Research Institute in Kassala State, supporting the production of vaccines for different diseases, and offering institutional training and capacity-building programs for fisheries and laboratory personnel.
Mr. Bozzuto also committed to the training of fisheries and laboratory staff, emphasizing that a report could be presented to the Italian government for the potential funding of projects mutually agreed upon by the ministry and SIAM Badi. This collaboration would be conducted under the supervision of the Italian Agency for International Cooperation.
