Khartoum: Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris engaged in high-level consultations with critical members of his cabinet, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohy-Eddin Salim; the Minister of Finance, Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim; and the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Professor Ismat Gurashi. These meetings were part of an ongoing effort to address Sudan’s pressing national issues.
According to Sudan News Agency, Ambassador Mohy-Eddin Salim provided an updated briefing on Sudan’s foreign relations and ongoing diplomatic activities. In response, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for tighter oversight of external engagements and requested monthly evaluation and monitoring reports on the performance of Sudan’s ambassadors abroad. The aim is to strengthen international partnerships that align with Sudan’s national interests.
Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim discussed the national financial situation, highlighting the humanitarian conditions in El-Fashir and preparations for the executive branch to res
ume operations in Khartoum. Additionally, he addressed Sudan’s entitlements with international financial institutions, illustrating the challenges facing the country’s financial landscape.
Professor Ismat Gurashi informed the Prime Minister about the availability of agricultural resources such as seeds, fuel, and fertilizers, as well as progress in agricultural projects and developments in water security. He stressed the importance of coordination with institutions responsible for water-security policy, underscoring the significance of these efforts in ensuring Sudan’s agricultural sustainability.
