Shendi: Minister of Energy Engineer Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed announced that all impediments hindering the implementation of the Shendi Solar Power Plant (10 MW capacity) have been overcome, and land allocation procedures have been completed and handed over to the implementing company, which has already begun execution. He said the plant will contribute to stabilizing electricity supply in the River Nile State and support new agricultural projects with power supply.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister visited the site accompanied by the Executive Director of Shendi Locality and a number of engineers, thanking the River Nile State government and Shendi Locality for resolving implementation challenges. He noted that the project is expected to be completed within four to five months.
The Executive Director of Shendi Locality said the project will significantly benefit agriculture, industry, and residential sectors, and confirmed that the allocated land allows for future expansion. The supervising engineer confirmed that initial works, including land levelling and soil testing, have begun.
