Khartoum: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Hind Al-Siddig, has revealed the key principles for promoting sustainability in the mining sector, which include improving environmental, social, and economic practices.
According to Sudan News Agency, in circulars she prepared for this purpose, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals stated that the principles aim to optimize the exploitation of mineral resources, preserve the environment, protect communities, and preserve the rights and share of future generations.
Dr. Hind indicated that there are several ways to achieve sustainable mining and make it an ally of the environment and society, including the use of advanced technology and improved extraction processes.
