Darfur: The Governor of Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi, announced via a tweet that the residents of Zamzam camp for the displaced in El-Fashir are currently under artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and mercenaries.
According to Sudan News Agency, Minawi expressed deep concern over the attacks, highlighting the vulnerability of the camp’s residents, which include children, women, the elderly, and the disabled. He emphasized that the militia’s actions appear to be a deliberate and blatant targeting of defenseless civilians, based on racial and ethnic grounds.
Minawi labeled the attack as part of a larger pattern of ethnic genocide, calling it a “hideous racist approach.” He implored for divine protection for the residents and condemned the militia’s “bloody criminal behavior” against innocent people.
