Khartoum: Members of the Sudanese National Council for Medical and Health Professions, chaired by Prof. Mohamed Al-Fadil Jaralnabi, with Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Zein Al-Tayib Mohamed as Deputy Chair and Dr. Zaki Mohamed Bashir as Secretary-General, took the oath of office on Thursday before the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Lamia Abdel-Ghaffar.
According to Sudan News Agency, following the ceremony, Dr. Lamia Abdel-Ghaffar stated that taking the oath marks a significant step toward enabling the Council to fulfil its mandate in delivering health services across all states, particularly conflict-affected areas and displacement centres. She urged Council members to intensify efforts to develop and strengthen its performance to support the improvement of the national health system.
For his part, Prof. Jaralnabi said in a press statement that the Council’s 2025-2029 plan-launched under the theme ‘Enhancing Competence and Innovation for an Advanced Health and Professional System’-is built on four strategic projects: digital transformation and practitioner registry, establishing an integrated examinations centre, and training and capacity-building for medical and health cadres across specialties.
