Khartoum State: Denies Wali’s Statement on Timeline for Return of Federal Institutions to Operations in Khartoum

Khartoum: The official spokesperson for the Khartoum State government, Al-Tayib Saad Al-Din, denied a statement attributed to the Wali (governor) of Khartoum, which was circulated by some electronic media outlets. The statement allegedly revealed a timeline for the return of all federal ministries, including strategic headquarters such as the Presidential Palace, to operations in Khartoum. Additionally, some media outlets reported that the Sudanese government intends to leave the administrative capital.

According to Sudan News Agency, the official spokesperson clarified that the Wali, as part of the reconstruction and normalization plan, called on all federal institutions and private sector institutions to inspect their headquarters, assess the extent of the damage, and work to secure and rehabilitate them. He did not mention a timeline for the return.
