Khartoum: The Khartoum Locality Security Coordination Committee, chaired by Executive Director Abdel-Moneim Al-Bashir, confirmed today a continued decline in crime indicators and dangerous incidents, attributing the trend to preventive plans, expanded security posts, and coordinated mobile patrols.
According to Sudan News Agency, the committee reported the closure of caf©s, shisha lounges, and unauthorized viewing clubs violating its directives and ordered immediate measures to regulate rickshaw parking near the Sports City. It also approved the deployment of fixed security posts around the Central Market Tunnel to curb recurring violations.
Further directives included addressing the presence of homeless individuals through reintegration programs coordinated with the State Ministry of Social Development, enforcing the removal of street kiosks, banning tea vendors on main roads, and implementing night curfews and regulated truck movement from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, alongside stricter action against unlicensed vehicles.
The committee commended recent night patrols, noting their contribution to strengthening enforcement.
