Kassala: The Commission for Investment, Industry, and Tourism in Kassala State has announced the opening of investment opportunities in the state’s gold mining blocks. During a meeting with national mining companies, Dr. Abdel-Moneim Yagoub Idris, Commissioner of Investment, Industry, and Tourism, outlined the capabilities and mechanisms required for companies to invest in the sector, emphasizing the importance of attracting experienced national firms, particularly those with prior operations in the Red Sea, Northern, and River Nile states.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Idris noted that, in coordination with the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company and relevant authorities, official procedures for investment will commence soon, highlighting significant revenue expectations for 2026 amid Sudan’s urgent need to expand its revenue streams. Company representatives expressed strong interest in investing in the designated gold mining blocks, stressing the need to complete required procedures to enable the launch of their projects in the state.
