Kabbashi Meets UN Resident Coordinator Clementine Salami as Her Tenure in Sudan Concludes

Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Shams-Eddin Kabbashi, met with the Resident Coordinator of UN Agencies and Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sudan, Clementine Salami, on the occasion of the conclusion of her tenure in the country.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, explained in a press statement that General Shams-Eddin Kabbashi expressed the Sudanese leadership’s gratitude for Ms. Salami’s efforts in providing services to the citizens of Sudan. He also acknowledged the recent decision by UN agencies to maintain their presence in Port Sudan despite the challenges posed by rebel militia attacks.

The UN Resident Coordinator, Clementine Salami, conveyed her appreciation for the cooperation she received from the Sudanese government throughout her tenure. She expressed satisfaction with her work in Sudan, even in the face of the ongoing conflict affecting the country.
