Jabir Presides Over Key Meeting on Currency Replacement Strategy.

Khartoum: The Supreme Committee for Currency Replacement convened its fifth meeting earlier this week under the leadership of Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir Ibrahim, a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. As the Chairman of the Committee, Jabir spearheaded discussions focused on the currency replacement process, ensuring readiness across various sectors.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister of Culture and Information, Khalid Al-Aiser, who is also the official spokesman for the committee, addressed the press, outlining the meeting’s agenda. Key topics included assessing the preparedness of the banking sector, including the Central Bank of Sudan and commercial banks, as they gear up for the impending currency replacement. The meeting also emphasized the importance of security measures and banking arrangements to facilitate a smooth transition.

Al-Aiser conveyed assurances to the Sudanese public, affirming that the currency replacement pr
ocedures are progressing well in terms of both security and banking readiness. He highlighted discussions around the media’s role in raising awareness among citizens about the necessity of opening bank accounts and depositing money, with further announcements on the timeline for the currency replacement expected soon.

Additionally, Al-Aiser mentioned that a comprehensive plan has been developed to ensure the replacement process is conducted seamlessly, minimizing any potential inconvenience to citizens.
