North kordofan: Federal Minister of Health Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim began a three-day visit to North Kordofan to assess the health situation and boost federal support to the state.
According to Sudan News Agency, accompanied by senior ministry officials, the minister inspected several facilities, including Wad Ashana Rural Hospital, Al-Dafeena Health Center, and Umm Rawaba Teaching Hospital, where new neonatal and dialysis units were inaugurated.
Prof. Ibrahim praised North Kordofan as a ‘symbol of resilience’ in the face of RSF militia attacks, pledging rapid federal assistance to cover hospital shortages and sustain essential services.
The Wali (Governor) of North Kordofan State Abdel-Khalig Abdel-Latif and State Health Minister Dr. Eman Malik welcomed the visit, describing it as a vital step toward strengthening the state’s healthcare system and enhancing coordination with federal and international partners.
