Khartoum: Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim hailed North Kordofan as a symbol of resilience, noting that the state has continued to provide medical and health services to its citizens despite the challenges of war.
According to Sudan News Agency, during his visit to Umm Rawaba Locality, where he inspected several health facilities, the minister said North Kordofan had become a main destination for displaced persons (IDPs) from Darfur and Kordofan who fled areas controlled by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
He explained that the visit aimed to thank the state government and health workers for maintaining essential services under difficult conditions, while also assessing needs and improving healthcare for the growing number of IDPs.
Acting State Minister of Health and Social Development Dr. Eman Malik described the visit as crucial for evaluating the current health situation after months of disruption due to the conflict, praising the federal ministry’s interventions across all levels.
North Kordofan Wali (Governor) Abdel-Khalig Abdel-Latif commended the ministry’s support and partnerships, emphasizing that the visit would have a positive impact on the state’s health sector.
