El-Fashir: The Commissioner of the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC), Salwa Adam Biniya, has voiced her surprise at the ongoing failure of 80 international humanitarian organizations to supply food and medical aid to El-Fashir, where residents have been under siege for over two years. She highlighted the continued delivery of such supplies to El-Fula via the Adre crossing, located in the far west of the country, despite the pressing needs in El-Fashir.
According to Sudan News Agency, this issue was brought to light during the 26th briefing conference of the Ministry of Culture and Information. The conference was organized by Sudan News Agency (SUNA) and held in the conference hall of the Secretariat-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) on Tuesday afternoon. Biniya emphasized the urgency of directing food supplies, including large quantities of millet, to El-Fashir residents, who are in desperate need.
Biniya stressed the importance of separating humanitarian efforts from political agendas, underscoring that their foremost objective is to deliver assistance to any Sudanese citizen in need, irrespective of their location. She also addressed the structure of general guidelines for humanitarian aid, affirming the commission’s readiness to address any challenges impeding the work of international organizations.
The commissioner urged these organizations to collaborate with HAC, as they hold precise data on displaced persons, their locations, and their needs. The press conference saw the participation of numerous representatives from international and regional organizations, agencies, and accredited bodies in Sudan, alongside media personnel.
