Khartoum: The Governor of Gezira Scheme, Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa Ali, announced that 203,000 acres were cultivated with wheat in the current winter season.
According to Sudan News Agency, during the 53rd briefing conference organized in Khartoum, Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa Ali shared that the scheme plans to cultivate a total of 1.6 million acres across both seasons. Despite challenges posed by war-related destruction, the production remains robust.
He further explained that the cultivated areas represent 85% of the target, with an average wheat productivity of 15 sacks per acre. Additionally, 8,000 acres have been dedicated to improved seed varieties known for high yields.
