Khartoum: Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Dr. Ali Yousuf Ahmed Al-Sharif has emphasized the importance of supporting Sudan’s diplomatic missions abroad and addressing the challenges they encounter, while highlighting the need to enhance relations with host countries. This statement was made during his meeting with ambassadors and diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ headquarters, marking the commencement of his duties at the ministry.
According to Sudan News Agency, the minister discussed with the diplomats the progress of work within the ministry, future plans, and foreign policy priorities for the post-war period. Dr. Al-Sharif had recently returned from a tour that included visits to Cairo, Riyadh, and Baku. During his tour, he participated in the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh and the climate change summit in Azerbaijan. He engaged with several counterparts at these summits to discuss bilateral relations between Sudan and these countries, as well as their support for Sudan in reg
ional and international forums.
