Addis ababa: Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim received the French Special Envoy to Sudan, Ambassador Bernard Kouchner, at his residence at the Presidential Palace. The meeting focused on the current developments in Sudan, with particular attention to the ongoing situation in the Kordofan and Darfur regions.
According to Sudan News Agency, the French envoy shared insights from his extensive professional experience in Chad, allowing him to provide a detailed assessment of the regional political landscape and the complexities of the Sudan-Chad dossier. He emphasized the necessity for rational discussions and the importance of reaching an agreement that ensures Sudan's security and territorial integrity while safeguarding its citizens.
Minister Mohi-Eddin Salim expressed gratitude towards Ambassador Kouchner, reiterating the Sudanese government's dedication to civilian protection. He highlighted the efforts of the armed forces to establish control over Kordofan and Darfur, aiming to provide security and stability for the residents.
