White nile state: Federal Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri reviewed a number of agricultural and animal production projects at Kenana Sugar Company during the second day of his visit to White Nile State. The tour was conducted in the company of White Nile State Wali Lt. Gen. Gamar-Eddin Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla.
According to Sudan News Agency, the inspection visit covered cattle and dairy farms, livestock fattening projects, broiler poultry units and hatcheries, in addition to horticulture nurseries and the industrial complex for the production of sugar, animal feed, ethanol, and organic fertilizer. The delegation also visited Kenana Civil Airport designated for exports.
The minister also met livestock producers in the Wad Al-Bala area of Al-Jabalain Locality and inspected the Animal Resources Laboratory in Rabak Locality. He received a detailed briefing from company management on production operations, breed improvement programmes, and efforts to expand livestock exports.
Professor Al-Mansouri praised the company's expanding role in supporting the national economy and commended Kenana's leading model in integrating crop and animal production. He affirmed his ministry's direction to support breed improvement programmes, calf fattening, poultry and meat production, and the establishment of modern slaughterhouses to help raise national export revenues. The minister announced an agreement with the state government to host a national workshop on animal and fisheries resources in the coming period.
For his part, Wali of the State Lt. Gen. Gamar-Eddin Mohammed Fadl Al-Mawla underlined the importance of the animal sector as livestock economic resource and confirmed the state's readiness to provide the necessary support to develop slaughterhouses, improve breeds, and finance specialized projects to strengthen production and exports.
