Port Sudan: The first batch of Sudanese pilgrims for the Hajj of 1446 Hijri began their sacred journey on Tuesday at Osman Digna Port.
According to Sudan News Agency, a total of 1,472 pilgrims, comprising both male and female, set sail from the states of River Nile, Al-Gadarif, and Kassala aboard the “Kenzi” ship. The departure was overseen by the Minister of Tourism in the Red Sea State, Samia Oshaik, who was present to see off the travelers.
Samia Oshaik stated that the departure processes are being managed efficiently by the Hajj and Umrah Department. She also highlighted the provision of essential services, such as meals and drinking water, ensuring a comfortable journey for the pilgrims. The Passport Directorate is actively facilitating the smooth execution of departure procedures.
Many pilgrims from different states shared their joy and excitement as they embarked on their Hajj journey. They expressed hopes for support for their homeland and the armed forces, emphasizing the need for security and stability against militias.
The dispatch of Sudanese pilgrims for the 1446 Hijri season is scheduled to continue until the 27th of this month. Colonel (Police) Sulafa Hussein Abdullah from the Hajj and Umrah Passports Directorate affirmed the readiness and smooth operation of the procedures, ensuring the safe dispatch and return of the pilgrims after completing their Hajj rituals.
